Parting is such sweet sorrow...

Parade in downtown Lebanon
Lebanon NH...There is so much I will miss about this small town.  I will truly miss the ISCU at Dartmouth...I have made some great friends...you guys are great!  This has been one of the best nursing jobs ever...and its from the wonderful people who work there!  The people from NH are genuinely nice...we have met some great neighbors and friends (Zoe's friend Kevin will especially be missed!).  I will miss how safe it is here...no need to lock up your car or house.  Children can still play in the streets and be safe...very rare in today's world.  There is never a line in the grocery store...the parks are green and beautiful...rush hour traffic - wait...there is none.  You can actually see stars....the moon is full and clear.  At night you can sleep to the sounds of wind, rain and bugs.  The next town down the road is adorable as the one you just passed.  The only negatives about Lebanon is the dump...it really smells!  Also...I hate to say it, but NH and VT have the WORST drivers in the world!  Drive the speed limit because the cops have nothing better to do than run radar!
Forth of July...this picture says it all.  A small community sitting together watching the fireworks over the small ski hill.  I just sat with my two older girls thinking how great this year has been...one that I will never forget.  Our beautiful Jazz was born here...our daughters got the opportunity to live in a safe community and I have made friends that I hope last a long time.  If we ever come back to the States...I would move to New Hampshire in a second!   Good bye green hospital...goodbye Lebanon....goodbye New Hampshire.  Virginia here we come...it's time to say goodbye to the those I hold most dear (tear).

  1. Hey there! Have y'all made it back to C-ville yet? Do you know where you are planning to live once you get in to Auckland? We've settled in Parnell and are LOVING it! Also, I don't know if you have purchased flights as of yet but we flew Air New Zealand (they were amazing) out of LA late, late at night (take off was midnight Eastern Daylight time) and all three of my boys slept the entire way!! I would recommend taking your car seats for the little two (I have a two year old and a ten month old -- 15 months apart :). Good luck and if you need any info, check with me, we just went through your circumstances!

    1. Hi Amy, We are headed back to Virginia Beach in 3 weeks...that will be home base until we leave (November 27). Our family is in Charlottesville so we will be there often. We do not have a place to live yet...my husbands job is putting us up for 2 weeks and we will obtain a place at that time. We want to be near a beach, but close to work. We are also flying Air New Zealand...will be departing LA at 9pm :) We are bringing car seats for all three. What a load it will be in the airport with luggage and strollers. We are trying to decide if we should just bring suitcases...or ship a small container out there? It sounds like your kids are the same age as ours...mine are 8 months, 2 and 5 - all girls! Any help from you would be great. Hope we get to meet once we get there, since we are all from Charlottesville - what a small world. Thanks. Laura
